Influence

Do you have influence on anybody? Sure you do, whether it be a few or many, we do influence someone or many. So why do we live life like we just don’t care? Or, I live my life for myself, I don’t care who likes it. That is not the way we should be, because we all influence people, period. Let us live a life to your utmost standards, whatever that is. Me personally, I am a christian, so I live for Christ who is in me, and I try to live a Godly life because I influence others as well. Whether it be as a father, mother, spouse, or teacher or athlete, we do influence others. So act like it, and live it out.

Many Blessings

I wanted to talk about my many blessings, one of which is my family. I have already talked about my wife, now I want to talk about my kids. They are such a blessing. My oldest Andy is super smart, and at age almost 30 is beginning a new stage in his life. He is going back to school at Western Carolina for writing, and his first relationship with someone. I love him,and wish him luck on his remaining endeavors. My daughter Jaime, you all might know her by another name. She is beautiful, with so much natural talent. She can write, draw, paint, crochet,be a CNA, and a mother. a woman of many talents, I love you baby. Jordan he is funny, quirky, and fun to be around. I don’t always agree with some things, but that is what makes him Jordan. Both my sons love gaming, and are musical knowledge savants. Well this is getting a little long, but that is my family.  I just wanted them to know that I love and appreciate them. See ya tomorrow. How could I forget my first grandchild Emma? . She is beautiful like her mother, extremely intelligent, funny, a Pokemon fanatic, and I love her to death she is worth living for.

Good Day

Today is the Lord’s day, I will rejoice and be glad in it. You know so many people, because of circumstances, or trials have bad day’s or week’s, and cant say that. Just remember, a lot of people have it worse than us. In that passage, we are to rejoice even in our troubles. It  seems hard to do, but we can. Try it sometime, you will be rejoicing, and praising him so much, you wont have time to waller in self doubt, and those troubles will seem so much lighter. Lay all your burdens on him for he cares for you. Just rejoicing. See ya tomorrow.

What Would I Do

Yesterday I talked about the love of my life. I will today as well. I met her through an acquaintance of ours. I don’t know about her but it was love at first sight she was beautiful. We went to a bible study on our first date. It was not planned that way but that is what happened. About a year later we were married.I have been with her for 33 years.

But I got to thinking what would happen if I lost her? I would be lost as a goose in a pack full of them, like a leaf just twisting in the wind. I love her that much. I would be without my friend, and my love the love of my life. Don’t take them for granted people they are too precious not to have. See ya tomorrow.

Republican party

You know I am getting hard up for something to write when I talk politics; ugghhh! But the Republican party has left me and others like me. It has gotten away from it’s principles. Ronald Reagan is the picture of my party. Conservative, with moral and family values. It has gone so far left it might as well be Democrat.I am not saying this because of Donald Trump. We have gotten away from our moorings and values. Reagan was the epitome of conservatism and values I hold dear. You know what, that is all I am gonna say. Who do you vote for when you feel like your party and nomination has left you in a wasteland?.

Well see ya tomorrow guys, no blistering retorts please.

Night At The Old Ball Park

Last night, I went to our local summer league baseball park to watch our Forest City Owls play ball. I used to play baseball myself, so it was a treat. There is nothing like the sights and sounds and smell at a baseball game: The fresh cut grass, the smell of a hotdog and drinks, and oh those sweet deep fried oreos! It was a cool night. Not so hot like it has been. We got off to a good start, but faltered in the end, losing 4-2. But that wasn’t the point. I had a great time with my boys and one of their girlfriend, and like I like to say, ‘and you cant beat that!’ Being with family at a ballpark is awesome.

The Old Ways

There are issues in this world I would love to address. Gun control, and bad things happening in the world. First off, a gun is a gun. It can’t fire itself, so when are we gonna quit complaining about gun control and get to the root of the problem: the person firing it? Also, when people do bad things, why do they say ‘how could this happen’? Well, I have two solutions. One is being dragged…dragged to church that is, so they can hear God’s word and know right from wrong, so they wouldn’t do things later in life to hurt people. Secondly, is a dang whuppin. If they had their butts whipped when they were young, they would know right from wrong. Now is this a  100% cure? No, because there will always be a few (and i said a few) who rebel and go bad anyway, or unless they have a mental problem. But I think there would be a lot less violence and disobedience in the world if people would do this.. Now should we do something about guns being sold to the wrong people? Sure. But let’s get to the root of the problem: sin, and parents withholding the rod and then saying ‘what happened to little johnny?’ .  I was dragged to church and had my butt whipped numerous times, and me and others turned out fine. Just sayin’. See ya tomorrow.

We Are His

In my devotions today, I came across a passage I just can’t shake. I already knew it, but it is awesome and freeing to think about. Let me share: It deals with how everything we have belongs to the Lord. I mean everything, all of it from our breath that we breathe, to our money, because he gave you a job and a body to do it with. We own nothing that is ours, he owns it all. That is something to praise about. He is our Lord, our creator, our sustainer, our savior, the everlasting one. He paid a great price for it when he gave his own life for us. We are his doulos, which in Greek means slave and a thankful one at that. Now I don’t mean a slave as we know of slaves, but someone who is willing, because of what he did for us. I usually don’t talk a lot about religion on here, but I am a Sunday school teacher so what do you expect lol. See ya tomorrow.

All Lives Matter

There are many movements going on lately. They single themselves out when all lives matter. When are we as a nation going to treat everybody as human beings, and love one another, and treat everyone like they want to be treated. If we started doing this, the whole world would be a better place to live in. Who wouldn’t want that? There are enough haters out there. It is not hard to be nice and treat everyone well. Sure, there are people out there that no one gets along with, but love them anyway. I am not a pacifist. I just believe we should love God and our fellow man. This is a commandment in the bible, by the way. The reason it is not hard to love one another is because we might not be able to do it in our strength, but we can do everything in his strength, who lives within us. Love you guys, and make this world a better place.
