New Genre

I love to read is an understatement. I have tons of e-mail books, and print form as well. I will probably never get to read in a lifetime. There is a new genre in writing called litrpg. What is that you ask, well your full of good questions today. Litrpg is a genre of books that are written for the gamer in mind. They are told from a video game point of view. Some of the ones that I have read are Holly jennings Arena, and The Gauntlet also Luke Chlemenko has a good one called Ascend Online.

If you are a gamer and love to read then start reading this genre. They read like you are in the middle of a video game. They have great story telling and read really well. I think I forgot to write a blog yesterday forgive me. Have a good day and i will be back tomorrow. Now go to the store and buy one of these books.

A Plug For a Great Company

I have come across a great publishing company that just started recently, and had their big media launch this week. It is called Endever Publishing. They help authors (whether they be seasoned authors or aspiring authors) to get published and get their message out. I  heard about it because my daughter is their media coordinator, and is doing a wonderful job for them. She has been quite busy with their launch.
So if you are an aspiring author, or a seasoned one who has not been published, go talk to them and they will help you out. Endever is a great group of people; very nice and easy to get along with. They are a community, instead of a company who doesn’t care about you. Yeah, I am biased since my daughter works for them, but I do think they are wonderful people to work for, and a great community that will work with you and help you any way they can. So if you are interested, go to their website at https://endeverpublishing.com/

I will start this blog again on Monday with different topics on each day, and maybe some book reviews and general talk. So I hope if you liked my blog before, you will come back and hopefully i’ll get some new readers.

see ya Monday

Book Review of Fatal Frost

I hate to be short but sweet, but here is a book I reviewed for Nancy Mehl called Fatal Frost. Go pick it up.

This book was well written, and an overall good book. A daughter finds out more about her father while on an FBI mission against the cartel. It has complex characters that you will fall in love with. A story of finding Christ and learning how to trust not only God, but humankind. I really enjoyed this book, and it kept the pages turning. A good read for all.

Hiding

“Do not let her be harmed in any way. The king wants to see her, but be careful, for she is a fey”, said Marcos. “Father wouldn’t like that so much, and I don’t want to incur his wrath.” “Yeah, I know”, said his twin brother Max. “I was sweating like a pig, in the bush I was hiding in, afraid to stay for being found and afraid to leave in case I got caught.”
I don’t remember much of my childhood, other than what my uncle told me about how my parents died and he took me in. I had always felt different from other people, but didn’t think much of it. What is a fey? I had never heard of one. Was it a good thing, or a bad one?.
“I know she is close”, the brothers said instantaneously. “I can smell her, and I can feel her aura. Fey are dangerous, so be on the lookout.”
Inside the bush with Josilen was some kind of animal. As it stuck its head out, it was a snake! I hate snakes. “Hey, what are those bushes shaking for?”, just as josilen made a sprint for it. There she goes. They urged their steeds on with their spurs in their horse’s side.

The Closet

Where am I? I was in my walk-in closet when the back wall gave away. All around me is another land, another place. Mist hangs like hanging moss from a Spanish moss tree down on the bayou. I am scared but intrigued at the same time, of being who knows where. I start walking down a path as the mist curls around me like a cloak. ‘Well, Josilen, what have you done now?’, I think to myself. The mist parts when I walk down the path, making everything look clearer. I hear a horse coming down the road, its hooves making a staccato clopping noise. No, there are two horses, with men dressed in clothes from an ancient time I have never been to before. They stop right in front of the bush I hid behind. Where did she go? I know someone is here in Sklavania. I felt her presence when she came through the time portal. I try not to cry out. Are they friend or foe?

Reading Day

Today was reading day. My son was on the Xbox so I couldn’t play Skyrim. I am currently reading Robert Beatty’s  ‘Serafina And The Black Cloak’. It’s a  great book. Due to today’s reading, I am more than halfway done. It is set in Asheville at the Biltmore estate. The author is from Asheville as well. It is kind of a fantasy story, set at the Biltmore.  A good read. You need to read it.

My Review Of ‘Courageous’ by Dina Sleiman

Dina L. Sleiman has written another great book in the Valiant Hearts series. It was written in the era of the Crusades and the Templars. Sir Randall and Rosalind and Lady Sapphira lead a crusade to the Middle East in search of captives, and to spread the gospel. They take children with them as well. Amidst someone with vengeance on their mind, Sir Randall and Rosalind overcome their demons of their past and fall in love, mixed in with a few battles. It is a tale of forgiveness and love. I can’t wait to read some more from Dina L. Sleiman. This was a great read, and I encourage everyone to read it as well.

I reviewed this book for Bethany House Publishing.

Kid In A Candy Store

Yesterday, I went to the library. I don’t get out much, so I had fun. Every time I go, I am usually there for awhile because I am like a kid in a candy store. There are so many books I like and authors as well, that it takes a while to choose. Remember as a kid going to a store? They usually had a big candy section in it and a diner as well, such as Woolworths. You go up to the candy that is in jars. Your mouth starts to water, and your eyes get big just looking at all that shiny candy in a jar for a penny. Yeah, I know that’s been awhile. That is how I feel like when I go to the library. Those shiny book covers and that new book smell, and wondering what world or whose lives can I escape into today. I have no problem spending an hour in there sometimes, but it is all worth it when I curl up and escape to a distant land and characters just waiting to be discovered. I have a question: am I just weird, or do you feel the same way? See ya on the morrow.

Lazy Monday

Today is another hot and sticky lazy day. I have been doing some gaming (Skyrim) and reading two great books: Arena, which is a fiction book about virtual gaming tournaments. The main character finds it hard separating reality from virtual, and it is a really great read from a debut author named Holly Jennings. I would highly recommend it especially if you are a gamer.

I am also reading Brad Meltzer’s book called the House Of Secrets. If you like Meltzer’s tv shows called Decoded and Lost History, you will love this book. It’s full of secrets and intrigue. It deals with an ex con, her dad, a famous tv person like Meltzer he went to go see, and now the ex con and her dad are dead. The ex con was found with a copy of Benedict Arnold’s bible in his chest, and the mystery is afoot when his daughter and son try to figure out this mystery. A must read.

All Lives Matter

There are many movements going on lately. They single themselves out when all lives matter. When are we as a nation going to treat everybody as human beings, and love one another, and treat everyone like they want to be treated. If we started doing this, the whole world would be a better place to live in. Who wouldn’t want that? There are enough haters out there. It is not hard to be nice and treat everyone well. Sure, there are people out there that no one gets along with, but love them anyway. I am not a pacifist. I just believe we should love God and our fellow man. This is a commandment in the bible, by the way. The reason it is not hard to love one another is because we might not be able to do it in our strength, but we can do everything in his strength, who lives within us. Love you guys, and make this world a better place.
